Mixed Fortune For Porteous

Dons A team maintained the recent Pittodrie goal glut by knocking seven past Dumbarton in last Saturday's Premier League Reserve fixture. The young Dons ran out 7-2 winners yet at half time it was 1-1.
The goals were shared around the side with Steve Cowan scoring twice and other scores coming from Ian Porteous, Steve Gray, Joe Miller, Paul Wright and Willie Falconer. The Dons took the lead through Porteous after twenty minutes but ten minutes later he had to leave the field and was replaced by sub Joe Miller. Five minutes before the break, Dumbarton shocked Dons by getting back into the game after some slack defensive playby the home team.
The second half though was one way traffic on the visitors goal with the Dons well on top and piling up the goals to give them their most decisive win of the season. Apart from the final scoreline, on of the most encouraging aspects of the game was the performance of John McMaster, playing his first full game of the season after his lengthy lay off. McMaster came through the match without any worries.
