Young Dons Excel But Lack Punch
ABERDEEN " A " left spectators at Palmerston Park wondering why they lost. Their 2-0 defeat Queen of the South "A" was against the run of play.
The young Dons' team work was good any seen in this class at Dumfries for a long time, and they had in McCall and Jamieson two enterprising wingers.
Queen's owed a lot to the splendid positioning and interception of their 'keeper, Wilson, who was having his first try-out since he fractured his finger in Pittodrie a League Cup game.
Queen the South scored twice in the first nine minutes after the Interval. Fitesimmons (penalty) and McCaig were the marksmen.
The Aberdeen attack was not successful after this and only Jamieson carried any punch.
McKenzie and Massie were also prominent.
