WITH the Dons beset by injuries after their opening game, two reserves showed they were ready to step into the league side witn a sound display in Saturday's "C" Division match against Leith Athletic at Pittodrie. They are Harry Yorston, inside right and Alex. Kiddie, his right-wing partner.
Yorston, the most dangerous forward afield, did not waste any scoring chances, and his hat-trick was a lesson in opportunism.
Kiddie hit top form. His electrifying dashes along the wing had an upsetting effect on the opposing defence, and he capped a fine performance by scoring one of the goals.
Among the newcomers, Tony McKeown, right back from Limerick, started off well. His positional play was good and his kicking clean, though he did not maintain his early confidence throughout the game.
Young Jimmy Chalmers, left half from Torry F.P.s, showed flashes of intelligent play, but tired. At centre forward, Muir was not lacking in guile. He scored one of the goals and made the opening for two of the others.
