Reserves Lack Goal-Scorers In Drab Game

THERE was little to enthuse over in yesterday's "C" Division match between Aberdeen " A and Montrose at Pittodrie. It ended in goal-less draw.

Play was scrappy throughout, and though they showed the better combination the Young Dons were no better than their opponents when it came to getting goals.
In an unimpressive Aberdeen attack, Kiddie, who began on the left wing and finished on the right, was brightest. Muir tried hard at centre but with little result.
There could be little complaint about the Aberdeen defence. McKeown and Pacione were both sound and McKenzie was outstanding.
McKenzie stopped one shot from Grieve on the goal-line but nearly slipped up after the interval when, in trying to secure a throw-in, he had the misfortune to see Scobie keep the ball in play and race into the middle. Only a brilliant save bv Curran saved the situation.
Scobie was a lively leader in a kick-and-rush Montrose team. Millar was a stalwart in defence.
