The defeat at Tynecastle was a dull rather boring affair with Hearts scoring the one goal of an un-entertaining game in injury time. Once again it was a bad defensive mistake which cost dear. It was a game which seemed to be more dominated by the referee's whistle than by the shape of the actual play. Hearts style was a negative one with a long succession of infringements causing stoppages and a lack of fluency.
'On the day it just seemed a case of when they didn't get the ball they got the man and the game seemed to be all whistle' said Scott. 'It was a very poor sort of game and we frankly did not play very well.'
Overall the picture is of the Reserve team continuing to fulfil the dual function of feeding players through to the first team while also attempting to win the Championship. 'We have not been able to have a settled team for a while,' pointed out the Dons' coach. 'This is bound to affect the playing rhythm but we are still up near the top and that is quite satisfactory at this stage of the season.'
