Brown Gives Forwards A Lesson
I hate to see our Reserve team being beaten especially in a home game, and this time we lost by three goals to nil, and if we don't get down to some hard work and positive thinking we will suffer more defeats.
It is a bit difficult to plan and practice tactics in training as some of our players are involved with the first team, and because of mid-week games and injuries picking a team before the last minute is almost impossible, but I'm sure we will get our heads down and get back on the winning trail.
To get back to our game last Saturday I felt that if we had taken our chances, we could have taken the points, but on saying that, we did not play well as a team, too many balls from our defence were just hopeful punts up the field for Davie Robb to chase. Only occasionally did we try to play the football we are capable of doing.
Ally McLean did all that was asked of him and had no chance with the shots that beat him. Eddie Thomson captain for the day and playing his first game after his sojourn in America played well and looked very sharp. Davie Robb another of our experienced players put in a power of work and with any luck at all would surely have finished with a few goals.
Our team was:- MacLean, Crawford, Glennie, Hair, Thomson, Cooper, Reilly Robb, Brown, Gibson, McCall. Subs:- Rougvie and Davidson.
