Noel Ward Pulls Off A Great Save

This must have been a frustrating game for the spectators, after having 90% of the play we were lucky in the end to get both points. It is difficult to break down a defence when they play four men at the back with one defender in front of them, the only way it can be done is to play on the wings, unfortunately we played everything through the middle and our shooting was off target, although Irvine Allan and Ian Wilson did hit the woodwork. I feel if we had got a goal early on we would have won well.
John Docherty who came on as substitute for Neil Cooper showed us the way with a clever bob over the keepers head, and Ernie Drews our other sub, showed his sharpness when he robbed the keeper to give Billy Pirie the easiest chances to score. Noel Ward playing his second game in goal (Incidentally his first game in goal was also against Ayr United) gave a competent display, and if we are short of a goalkeeper again, we will have no hesitation in putting Noel between the "sticks".
