This was a better display by our boys, and we deserved our 3 - 2 win. Our best games this season have been against Celtic winning three and drawing one. Celtic take a lot of credit for making the games attractive for the spectators, they play good open football and allow us to do the same.
Our goal scoring hero was Paul Halley a player whom the supporters have not seen much of this season, this is due to having a big pool of players, but Paul has been working hard at his training and he fully justified his selection, apart from his goals, his work rate and skills were very good. John Docherty's use of the ball was one of the features of the game and he was responsible for most of our attacking moves. Ian Gibson was another of our players who showed how skilful a player he was with a little bit of luck "Gibby" could have had his name on the score sheet.
Ernie Drews and Bobby Street although not showing the same skills as some of our players, pulled their weight with their speed and tenacity. Walker McCall our captain for the day (owing to Jim Henry calling off) played a mid-field role and was always looking for a shot at goal. Our back four were very good defensively although Jim Crawford and Doug Rougvie will have to learn to use the ball a bit better. Noel Ward again played well in goal, his handling and distribution of the ball was first class..
