Against Partick Thistle reserves we played Eric Black, a sixteen year old from Alness at outside right, and the boy gave a good account of himself. Colin Maver, another S signing was substitute in this game and he also did very well when he came on. John Gardiner our regular goalie substituted the injured Eric Black, but apart from making one or two good passes, confirmed the opinion that his best place is in goal. Michael Robertson our young centre half has been getting a regular game with the result that he has shown a lot of improvement. Steve Cowan who was on loan to Deveronvale has joined our ranks and in the three games he has played for us he has done well. Steve who is a striker, is a big strong lad who knows where the goal lies, and we are expecting big things from him. Michael Grubb is the latest ground staff boy to join us from Kirkcaldy and he will take Steve Cowan's place at Banff. If he can fill Steves' boots, the Deveronvale officials will be happy.
