It was 'sweet and sour' for Aberdeen in two recent fixtures against Dundee.<.br>
A battling display by the Young Dons, to reach the next round of the BP Youth Cup, earned revenge for an earlier hiding by the Dens Park second team [21st October]. The youngsters won 4-3 away in a see-saw struggle in which the scoreline went from 0-2 to 3-2. Early on a rather comfortable passage through seemed on the cards as Eion Jess and Scott Booth, back after injury, set up the clear lead in the first quarter of an hour... but what a misleading impression THAT turned out to be.
If the youngsters felt they were as good as home and dry they were forced to re-think as Dundee hit back forcefully to take a 3-2 lead which they held until the last 13 minutes. Then Aberdeen's young hopefuls got their act together once again. Booth got his second and the equaliser. And with a 3-3 scoreline looking a certainty at 90 minutes, Jess also completed a pair with an angled drive for the winner.
