At Pittodrie Park last night, before 1000 spectators Aberdeen "A" defeated Buckie Thistle, the Highland League champions by five goals to one in an Aberdeen and District League fixture. The Thistle gave a bright display in the first half and were first to score, Bain converting a cross from M Kenzie. With this advantage, the visitors put up a stout defence, and it took Aberdeen twenty-five minutes to equalise, Merrie being the marksman. A long range effort by Edwards brought Aberdeen's total to two, and shortly before the interval Merrie counted yet a third goal.
Although they fought pluckily in the second period, Buckie were no match for the homesters, who, despite the fact that they did not unduly exert themselves, added two more goals, Yorston and McFarlane counting. Aberdeen were superior both in defence and attack.
Best for Buckie were G. Anderson, J. Newlands, Nicol, G. McKenzie, and P. Bain.
