Wartime Dons
Aberdeen Football Club has a mixed history during the First and Second World Wars. The Great War saw 33 players and staff give service for their country, 8 of whom lost their lives.

The club continued to play football during the Second World War, and won the Southern League Cup, the precursor to the current League Cup, in 1946.

We hope to develop this section to document the Club's wartime history.

Wartime Roll of Honour
Wartime Roll of Honour

At the Annual General Meeting of Aberdeen Football Club on 1st August 1919, Mr Tom Duncan, Chairman, paid tribute to the thirty-three Players and Officials who gave service in the Great War, eight of whom made the supreme sacrifice. Other men who had been associated with the Club also died in that conflict, as did two others in the Second World War. They are all remembered here as members of the Aberdeen FC Roll of Honour.
