Aberdeenshire Cup Surprise

Fraserburgh Hold Pittodrie Second Eleven.

Fraserburgh created a big surprise at Bellslea Park, where in the semi-final of the Aberdeenshire Cup competition they drew 3-3 with Aberdeen "A."
The Buchan team deserve great credit when it is considered that Aberdeen fielded their strongest eleven, which included five of their former first team players. Yorston had the hat-trick.
Aberdeen attacked at the start, and Yorston missed chance, but with ten minutes gone he atoned by opening the scoring.
Fraserburgh became sprightly, and Cumming was in action several times. Scott had the ball in the net, but the referee disallowed the goal and awarded a penalty, from which Cheyne equalised.
The homesters had the better of the exchanges, and it was no surprise when Scott gave them the lead.
Near the interval Aberdeen attacked vigorously, and after the ball had twice struck the crossbar Yorston equalised.

Aberdeen Press Hard.

With the advantage of the wind, Aberdeen were the aggressors in the second half, and the home defence had a gruelling time. The visitors got a shock when in a Fraserburgh breakaway Duncan gave the homesters the lead.
Aberdeen resumed the attack, but Fraserburgh gave a magnificent defensive display, and it was near the close before Yorston got the equaliser.
