match report 1938-39 fixture list
Div 1 (Old)
Falkirk 1 - 3 Aberdeen
Kick Off:          Strauss, Warnock, Pattillo.
Attendance: 7,000
Venue: Brockville Park, Falkirk
The muddy and icy grounds of recent weeks have brought the best out of the Dons, who have lost but one of their last nine games, and thus forged ahead to second place in the League table. They culminated their recent run of success with an unexpected but deserved win over the strong-going Falkirk at Brockville last week. Although the Dons did not have the greater share of play, they excelled Falkirk in teamwork. The "breaks" were against the home side, but the Pittodrie machine ran smoothly as compared with the labouring of Falkirk. Aberdeen took the lead when Strauss anticipated a pass-back to McKie, but Huskie equalised. Twelve minutes from the end a clearance hit Warnock in the face and rebounded into the net. The Dons struck home their advantage when Pattillo shot a great goal from 15 yards.
