Danish Day leads to Europe.
It was a Danish Day celebration for the Dons as they sealed a European place next season with an emphatic win over Livingston. Three first half goals set up the victory and put the Dons on easy street with a professional display against a physical Livi side. Despite creating a barrow load of chances in the second half they were unable to add to their tally.

Aberdeen were first to venture forward and Broto had to dash from his goal to clear with only 30 seconds on the clock. The Dons were almost punished in the 4th minute when Tosh intercepted a loose pass from Darren Young. The defence was quick to react however and cleared the danger. Aberdeen took the lead in the 8th minute when Darren Mackie collected the ball on the half way line, made his way forward and delivered a dangerous cross. As the ball arrived in the middle Broto and Anderson got in a mix up and Leon Mike was on hand to tap the ball in to the net.

The Dons crowd were on their feet again three minutes later as Aberdeen added a second. A Winters free kick on the left swung into the box and Mackie rose high to send a looping header towards the top corner. Broto did well to claw the ball out, but McGuire was on hand to drive the loose ball low into the net. Livingston were stunned into action and forced a fine save from Kjaer in the 12th minute. The Dons had a strong penalty claim turned down in the 15th minute when Mackie was sandwiched inside the box. McDonald was not impressed and awarded a corner kick.

Fernandez was booked in the 17th minute for a challenge on McGuire and the full back was off the pitch for some lengthy treatment. The game settled down to an even affair, but the Dons should have done better in the 24th minute when Mike created space for himself, but failed to thread the ball through to Mackie. Mackie went close to adding a third twice in the space of a minute. The first chance came when McNaughton delivered a deep cross which Broto came to collect and missed. Winters kept the ball in play and cut it back into the centre. Mackie was unable to react quickly enough and Anderson cleared. Seconds later Mackie had another chance when he out jumped Broto, but couldn?t steer the ball in to the net.

Fernandez had the ball in the Aberdeen net in the 33rd minute, but his effort was chalked off for offside. The Dons added a third in the 39th minute when Winters sent a diagonal ball through the middle for Mackie to chase. The youngster showed great strength to hold off the defender, control it and fire the ball beyond Broto. Mackie was in the thick of the action gain a minute later when Derek Young put him through on the right. As he tried to cut the ball back, the Livi defence closed him down to concede a corner. Livi went close in the 45th minute when Fernandez set up Quino, but Kjaer was quickly down to deny him.

Livingston almost made a sensational start to the second half when substitute Bingham curled a free kick on to Kjaer's post. After a couple of threats by Livingston, Aberdeen got back into their stride and were creating chance after chance. Winters had a couple of chances in the 54th minute, but the first saw the ball get caught between his feet and the second was held by Broto as he tried to place it low to his left. A minute later Mike set up Mackie and a clean strike was held by the keeper at the second attempt. The Dons should have added a fourth in the 58th minute when a McNaughton cross caused the Livi defence problems prompting Anderson to head the ball into the path of Mackie. The youngster had plenty of time, but drilled his shot inches wide of the post.

The Dons had another chance to add to their tally in the 69th minute with Bisconti breaking through the centre, he tried to set up Mackie, but the ball fell behind the striker and the danger was cleared. Bisconti made the wrong choice again in the 75th minute when a similar move saw him try to set up Mike when Mackie and Winters were better placed. Tiernan replaced Mike a minute later. The Dons held on easily in the end to send the fans home with 'European Song' ringing in their ears.
