Paul Bernard got the Dons off to the best possible start, when he scored after
only 3 minutes, to hit his second goal in two games. The Dons started well, but
the visitors came more and more into the game as it progressed.
Despite the first half being an exciting affair, there were very few clear
cut chances, until Christophe Cocard had a shot well saved by veteran Jim Leighton
just before the break.
Cocard got his revenge early in the second half when he scored a stunning
goal, beating the entire Dons defence before despatching the ball past Leighton.
The Dons went ahead again in the 57th minute, when Paul Bernard hit his second
goal of the game.
Both teams had chances to score, with Thomas Solberg hitting the post and
Vareille coming close for Killie.
However, with less than five minutes to go, Kilmarnock striker made it 2 each,
a fair reflection of a game in which neither defences performed particularly
well. Final score from Pittodrie, Aberdeen 2-2 Kilmarnock.
