Juniors Disappoint in Defeat
A disappointing Aberdeen junior select side proved no match for the young Dons in last night's friendly at Pittodrie, and the game did not provide much in the way of entertainment.
Lack of thrust in attack was the juniors' undoing, and their only players to catch the eye for sustained periods were Wilkie in goal, and Harper at right back.
The forward line included two provisionally-signed seniors - McInnes and Sheriffs - and although both produced occasional smart touches, the line did not keep together. There was a slight improvement when the inside men switched and Sheriffs teamed up with Aitken, an East End colleague.

Well Taken

The young Dons' victory margin might have been greater with a little care in finishing, although their goals were well taken. Allan, however, looked suspiciously off-side when he scored the third just on half time. Davidson had two and McNeill the other.
Aitken got the juniors' goal when the seniors were playing with ten men. Billy Smith, who had come out after half-time as a substitute for Hogg, slipped in going into a tackle, and, after treatment behind the goal was taken to the dressing room as a precautionary measure.
MacFarlane and Kelly showed up well for the winners and Mulhall was an enterprising winger.
