Ayr Reserves Fail Against Aberdeen A at Pittodrie
Aberdeen A easily maintained their undefeated home record on Saturday, when Ayr United?s reserve string visited Pittodrie Park.
The young Dons were generally on the aggressive in the first half, although Faulds, the visitors' left half, just missed with two great scoring attempts.
Graham, the Ayr 'keeper, was in great form, and it was mainly due to his abilities that the Dons failed to open their score sheet until twenty minutes had gone, when Merrie shot a good goal from David's pass.
Aberdeen continued to press but their finishing was weak, while Graham saved brilliantly from David, Oliphant, Warnock, and Burke. Seven minutes from half-time, however, Oliphant scored a capital goal, while after both Merrie and Warnock had struck the woodwork, M'Gillivray reduced the leeway with a fine drive just before the interval.

The Ayr forwards were prominent on the resumption, but Falloon and Robertson kept Duncan from being unduly troubled.
Merrie had two great tries for the homesters, one drive missing narrowly after clever play by Falloon and Dickie.
Graham was always safe In the visitors' goal, but too much elaboration spoiled several good chances. The closing stages were marked much unnecessary vigour, Aberdeen being generally round the Ayr goalmouth.
