Airdrie 'A' Win

Aberdeen Fail By Odd Goal.

Aberdeen A fell further behind in the race for the Alliance championship when they were defeated by Airdrie A at Pittodrie Park on Saturday.

The young Dons played well in the early stages if the game but found the solid visiting defence difficult to circumvent. Twenty minutes after the start Airdrie took the lead when Russell scored a capital goal from close range. Warnock and Dickie had good tries for the homesters in the succeeding exchanges and, eventually, Warnock bundled the ball and 'keeper through for the equaliser following a flag-kick, ten minutes before the interval.
Aberdeen opened the second half strongly hut Airdrie's first raid was fruitful, Burke heading good goal from Paterson's cross.
The Dons fought back furiously, and after David had missed a sitter, Dickie equalised with a fine shot from twenty yards' range.
Aberdeen had nearly all the play in the last half-hour but their finishing was weak, and ten minutes from time Blake scored from a penalty kick awarded for a foul by Cooper.
The homesters made strenuous efforts to equalise on the closing stages but Airdrie's defence was equal to all calls.
