Easy Victory For Aberdeen 'A'

Jackson's Hat Trick.

THIRD LANARK "A" WELL BEATEN.

Third Lanark A proved much inferior to the Aberdeen reserves at Pittodrie, and the 5-0 victory in favour of the home team in no way flatters them.

From goal out Aberdeen were superior, especially in the first half, when they rattled on four goals. In the second period Aberdeen relaxed, but despite this they still held the advantage.
Jackson's capabilities as a centre-forward was again the feature, and he had another hat trick. Warnock supplied the openings, and Jackson did the rest.
Within five minutes of the opening Aberdeen took the lead, Fraser fastening on to a weak clearance, and slamming the tall in from the edge of the penalty area.
McMillan and Edward were prominent for Third Lanark, but against an alert Aberdeen defence the inside trio got little chance of taking advantage of the wingers' work.
In the twentieth minute Warnock broke through on the right, and Jackson first-timed his pass into the net.
The same player rattled the underside of the crossbar in the next minute.
In a visitors' raid Edward shot past, and Cumming saved from McMillan.
The home team redoubled their efforts, and Redford saved from Jackson, Warnock, and David.
A scrimmage in the Thirds' goal saw Dickie force the ball over the line to increase the home total to three, and just before the interval Jackson notched a fourth goal.

Midfield exchanges were the order on the resumption, but gradually Aberdeen again took the offensive, and David shot over, while Redford held from Warnock.
The Cathkin attack came into prominence, and Smith missed narrowly with a good drive. McMillan brought Cumming into action, and Anderson (J.) sent past.
Aberdeen returned to the attack, and Jackson missed a chance when he lifted a Warnock cross over the bar. He atoned near the close, however, when he netted another Warnock cross at the second attempt.

Attendance - 5000.
