"He's been in the academy since under 10s, so he's been involved with the club from the age of 8. His pace was the eye catching thing for the scouting team. The four-a-side pitches weren't big enough for him because he was so quick! He came in from Dyce Boys' Club. His dad, Martin, is a former striker with Caley Thistle and Peterhead. "One of his earliest opportunities here was playing in a big tournament in The Netherlands against teams like Feyenoord which gave him great exposure to playing against top young defenders of a similar age. Alfie's always been in the tournament teams since he's been at Aberdeen, so he's played in a lot of different competitions. As well as being very fast he has power. He more than held his own playing for the Under 18s throughout last season whilst still at school. Those are his big attributes and to add to that, he can finish with both feet. "He's got a great personality and good leadership qualities. He's a hard worker, he listens, asks questions and takes on information really well. He's been right through the SFA Performance School at Hazlehead too and been involved in the national team set up at both his own age group and also the year above. He finished as the top scorer in the Victory Shield last year." Gavin Levey, Academy Director, 20th June 2022 Thanks to impressive performances and a high rate of goalscoring, Alfie was called up for first team duties during season 2022-23, first appearing in a friendly match against an Atlanta United XI in November 2022. His first competitive appearance came when he took the field as a substitute on 4th February 2023, becoming a regular on the substitutes bench thereafter. On 19th May 2023 the Club announced that Alfie had signed a contract extension that would take him through to the summer of 2026. To facilitate his development the Club announced on 23rd September that he would go on loan to Kelty Hearts till January 2024. This was extended to the season's end on 5th January 2024. On 1st September 2024 the Club conformed that Alfie would again go out on loan, this time for a season at Ayr United, managed by former Don, Scott Brown. After making 26 appearances and scoring 9 goals at Ayr, Alfie was recalled on 4th January 2025 and sent on loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the remainder of the season where he made a signifcant contribution until injured. On 1st August 2025 the Dons announced that Alfie would return to ICT for a further season.
