Ester became Barry Robson's third signing of the summer of 2023 on the 16th of June when, subject to a work permit, it was announced that he had arrived in Aberdeen. He joined from NK Radomlje in Slovenia and at the time of signing had reached Slovenian Under-21 international level. The deal lined him up for three years with the Dons.
In his first season he mainly joined matches from the bench but was a more regular starter in his second until injury ended his campaign early. On 3rd September 2025 the Club announced that Ester, in search of regular football, was going on loan Serbian SuperLiga club FK Radni?ki 1923 for the remainder of the current season.
