Matty hada journey through several clubs, starting with Kilmarnock and winding up at St Johnstone during 2018-2020. Then the Dons signed him for a fee in January 2020. Unfortunately the pandemic and injuries kept his involvement at a low level over the next couple of seasons, but he completed a full pre-season under manager Jim Goodwin and was part of the first starting line-up for season 2022-2023. However, despite making regular appearances under Jim Goodwin's management, he finished the season mostly on the subs' bench and his contract was not renewed.
