Willie was wounded by shell in the head and both knees in the summer of 1918, whilst serving in the Gordon Highlanders. At that time, his wife was living in Merkland Road.
He had a productive career with the Dons, interrupted by war, but eventually moved on the St Johnstone.
Willie later lived in the USA Died - Jarrow, 26th June 1964.
