Victoria United 4 - 1 Mossend Swifts
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
A match was played between these clubs at Torry on Saturday afternoon. The teams were: Mossend Swifts: Jack; Gilfeather, White; Graham, Taylor, Ross; Thomson, Prentice, Mann, Main, Riley. Victoria United: Finlay; Kilgour, Thain; Gouick, Durrie, Thomson, McHardy, Riley; Tonner; Runcie, Ritchie. Referee: Mr Peter Simpson. After some fine play by the Victoria United, the game ended: Victoria United 4, Mossend Swifts 1.

It was just about time the Vics were placing a win to their credit. Saturday saw them in wonderfully good form, considering the poor displays lately. The front line was rearranged, and McHardy of the City Athletics was tried outside right. Runcie re-appeared and partnered Ritchie on the left. The game was well contested in the first half, and although Vics had the greater part of the play, some good work was done by both sides.

The second period turned out to be a very one-sided affair. Vics simply made rings round their opponents and indulged in goal-shooting practice. The game ended: Vics 4, Mossend 1.
The Vics' forward line played much better than we have seen it do for some time. McHardy is a very likely player and ought to be kept in the attack. Lachie Thomson was the best half on the field and clearly showed this is his right position. A miserable crowd turned out, and we are sure Vics must lose a good bit over the fixture.
