This so-called "friendly" rapidly degenerated into a farce as the local referee failed to exert any control, particularly of the behaviour of the Rot-Weiss players who were clearly out to defeat a big name scalp by any means necessary.

Aberdeen didn't start well and the home team set about them with a will. The overacting of the German players was somehow not spotted by the referee and he boked Richardson for downing Ljutyafter nine minutes. Only a minute more was played before unmarked Kotthaus opened the scoring, with a header past an isolated Watt.
In seventeen minutes Wright was kicked in the face by Bayertz and had to be treated. In the aftermath, the Germans demonstrated a wealth of theatrical abilities by wild reactions to every tackle, This resulted in Kane being booked for a foul on Majek who was one of the leading divers in the local side.
Duncan Shearer came on for the Dutch trialist Ter Avest and just after that Wright was cautioned for an innocent challenge on leading actor Kotthaus.
Next up was a booking for Shearer for a strong challenge on Majek, who gave a virtuoso performance t0 ensure that the referee believed him in terrible pain./br> Shortly after, the shaky referee finally booked a local in the form of Ljuty for scything down Grant. At this stage four German fans were ejected from the stadium for throwing beer over the Dons in the dugout.
Just after the second period began the German side scored a second goal through Bayertz who took th eball off Brian Irvine and sprinted thirty yards to easily beat Watt.
At last, the Dons picked up the pace and Richardson gave a pass to Paatelainen to allow him to dash ahead and chip neatly into the corner of the net. That was after 54 minutes. Four minutes later, Kajek gave away a free kick, for which he was booked for a tackle from behind on Shearer, and Irvine headed Richardson's kick across oal for Shearer to tap in a second for the Dons.
In 65 minutes Irvine was the fifth Don to be yellow carded for fouling Radojewski and Pelzer was booked in 81 for fouling Paatelainen.
The winning goal came from the foot of Shearer when he slid home the ball in 81 minutes, having beaten the defence to create his chance.
N.B. The Aberdeen Trialist was Ter Avest (Dutch)
