Attendance: 7,000
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
Ancell on the Mark
BOB ANCELL, one of the most versatile players in the game has played in many positions for the Dons, and has given the utmost satisfaction in them all. On Saturday against Falkirk at Pittodrie he played at inside right in the first half, but after the iinterval he went to centre and led the Dons to a 3-0 victory in a game which was remarkable for the number of missed chances. Pattillo in partlcular must be wondering how he missed the goal so often.

alkirk were just an ordinary team. Their style was typical Second Division days, with no attempt at studied football.
The Dons played good football in outfield, but wnen it came to finishing there was a different story to tell. The defence was seldom in difficulties. Johnstone, Cooper and Dyer were a reliable trio. Dyer had a penalty goal. The homesters had the advantage at half-back, where Hlles gave a greatly improved display. Dunlop and Collier were good in the wing positions.
McSpadyen stood out as the best forward on the field, and Ancell impressed as a leader. Besides getting two of the goals, had some creditable head efforts.
Pattllio is off form, and although he should have scored more than once he was unfortunate at times in his shooting.
Taylor foraged well, and Dryden showed improvement on the left. Matthews gave a grand display in the Falkirk goal. Others who did well for the visitors were McGeaohie, and Reynolds.
it was a poor game witnessed by 7000 spectators.
