Victoria United 5 - 2 Arbroath
Kick Off:    Annand, Annand, Annand, Ferries, Ferries       ?, Suttie
Attendance: 0
Venue: Wellington Bridge Grounds, Aberdeen
These teams met in a friendly game at Wellington Grounds. The players were: Arbroath: Mann; Drummond, Milne; Ronnie, Storrier, Rae; Wishart, Findlay, Johnston, Hutton, Suttie. Victoria United: Gray; Thomson, Ririe; Ritchie, Stewart, Ross; Turner, Benzie, Sutherland, Annand, Ferries.
At the start the homesters were conspicuous by two good rushes, but smart defensive work gave relief, and with n series of passes and some neat heading the Arbroath men got down to Gray, who was called upon to stop some stingers. The play for a time was hot, and both goals were frequently in danger. At length, by some fine combined work, Annand scored the first goal for the United, and although the south men once or twice menaced Gray, play for the rest of the half was confined to their territory. Annand put on two other goals and Ferries one, and at half-time the teams crossed with the score: United 4, Arbroath 0.
The second half witnessed a change, the United being compelled to adopt defensive tactics, Ririe shining conspicuously. The goal, however, fell, then the United went off with a rush which terminated in Ferries heading the ball through from a pass by Turner. Suttie added a second goal for Arbroath, and then play began to deteriorate. The game ended: Victoria United, 5; Arbroath, 2.
