Football can be a frustrating game. Ask Scott Thomson and Graham Watson, both of whom recently have had their resilience severely tested by returns to the treatment table within a few games of resuming after injury absences.
Scott, signed from Brechin City earlier this season, appeared in successive Premier Reserve League games against Hearts, Dunfermline and Rangers at the end of March after a spell on the sidelines, but then had to miss the Reserve League Cup semi-final against Rangers, while Graham, just back in action after being out for Jnauary and February, had to be taken off at half-time in last Saturday's home Premier Reserve League meeting with Falkirk.
Fortunately, Scott was out for the cup-tie only, resuming against Falkirk, and, hopefully, Graham's latest absence will only be short-lived, but both players would benefit from a spell of confidence-building continuity.
Scott's setback was particularly unfortunate for he contributed significantly to the young Dons' league victories over Dunfermline and Rangers by scoring in each game.
