A friendly match between the Dundee "A" team and the Orion took place on Saturday in dull but favourable weather before a good many spectators in the Orion's Park at Aberdeen. The teams were as follows: Dundee "A" - Barrett; Robertson, Cargill; P. Gray, C. Gray, Low; McLaren, Miller, Bell. Malloch, Williamson. Orion - McBean; James Low, H. Ross; Gordon, John Low, Currie; Benzie, McFariane, Thom, Leggat, McLennan. Mr Peter Simpson (Victoria United) refereed the game.
At half-time the scores stood: Orion, 2 goals; Dundee "A," 1. About three minutes from the commencement of the second half Thom again scored for the Orion. Shortly afterwards McFarlane passed to Thom, who netted a fourth point for the Orion. Again and again Barrett saved shots, which were just touch and go. However, Barrett, in attempting to return a swift grounder from Low, missed the kick, and the ball went through. This was all the scoring, and when the whittle sounded the scores stood: Orion, 5; Dundee "A" 1.
