Having a free weekend due to an early Scottish Cup exit, Aberdeen played this match to help cash strapped Raith Rovers raise some funds. The Dons did not play well and by all accounts caretaker manager Paul Hegarty was far from happy and gave the players his version of the fabled hairdryer treatment.
