Young Dons' Wings Seldom in Picture

ABERDEEN "A" had themselves to blame for their odd goal in three defeat by Third Lanark "A" at Pittodrie. The home team started off briskly enough, but although they were on top in the outfield for most of the first half they seldom gave the impression that they would score.
There was too much bunching by the inside forwards and a lack of power on the wings where Botha and Millar were seldon in the picture. Stenhouse at right half, did his best to get things running for the home side, but the first-time visiting defence stuck it out.
Scott was an elusive centre, who gave plenty of trouble to Dunlop, and he outpaced the centre half to score a good goal three minutes after the interval. This was followed by another goal from Reid in eighteen minutes.
The Young Dons did try to make a fight of it after this, but their only reward was a penalty goal by Preston after Millar had been brought down.
