The Aberdeen A team traveled to Lochgelly and played a team of that ilk in a Northern League fixture. Teams:-
Lochgelly: Brady; McLean, Young; Craigie, Marnoch, Christie; Frail, F. Gray, Thornton, Wilkie, A. Gray
Aberdeen A: King; Hannah, Macdonald; Davidson, Macfarlane, Low; Hay, Towns, Dalgarno, Roberts, Ritchie.
Referee - Mr. Hood, Perth.
The play at the start was even, but Lochgelly asserted themselves as the game preceded. After Brady had saved a long shot from Macfarlane, King fisted out twice. Lochgelly opened the scoring, Frail putting through, King being beaten after many tries. Although Aberdeen showed clever combination, they failed near goal. Dalgarno equalised, offer pass from Hay, and then Thornton gave Lochgelly the lead. Davidson scored from a penalty, and the game was again even.
The start of the second. So Aberdeen almost scoring. Brady had to fling himself at a shot from Dalgarno. A fruitless corner resulted. At the other end two corners fell in succession to Lochgelly, but they likewise proved of no avail. Both goals were being visited in rapid succession, and both teams strove hard to get on the lead. Gray about scored, just missing by inches. Aberdeen likewise missed.
