Aberdeen had easily the better of the exchange's in the first half, but as is usual on such occasions did not take the game too seriously. Hay opened the scoring, and Williamson added a second for the Pittodrie team. Hay scored a third. The Select team seldom were dangerous, and acted mostly on the defence.
Select resumed without Anderson, who had wrenched his knee, and Aberdeen were without Bert Murray, who had also slightly injured his knee. Mackay scored a fourth goal in the first minute, and sometime later he added a fifth. A number of humorous incidents kept play from being uninteresting. A sixth goal fell to Aberdeen, Mackay performing the hat trick. The leaders finished with nine men, Mackay retiring owing to an injury. Near the close, Harry scored for the select.
