There has been no lack of activity in recent weeks for Aberdeen's reserve and youth squad players and the abundance of fixtures to be fulfiled has meant some players being in action three or four times in the space of a week.
The younger members of the Pittodrie playing staff, however, have benefited form the situation in gaining valuable experience at a higher level more frequently than they might normally have expected.
The Aberdeen Squad facing Dunfermline in a home Premier Reserve League fixture for instance, included half-a-dozen members of the youth squad.
Against more experienced opposition, the young Dons lost a couple of early goals and despite Michael Craig pulling one back, they still trailed at the interval. The second half produced an improved performance from the home side, but it was the Fifers who found the net again to finish 3-1 winners.
