WHILE the Dons succumbed at Greenock, the "A" team gained a meritorious 5-1 victory over Morton "A" at Pittodrie. On this form the Young Dons will have a definite say in the destiny of the Reserve League Cup. It was a heartening display by the Young Dons.
Curran in goal was as confident as ever. The backs kicked well, but their tackling was not too sound. The half backs were forceful and always on top of the opposing attack.
It was the attack, however, which impressed most. Williams was at his best as leader. He held the line well and his distribution was unselfish.
Baird, up to the time of his injury, was a success, while Smith worked hard throughout. Kiddie and Millar were good on the wings. Aberdeen's scorers were Baird (2), Millar, Williams and Smith. Preston gave Morton "A" their goal. He shot the ball against Curran, off whom it went into the net.
