SEASON'S CENTURY OF GOALS
SCOTT'S HAT-TRICK
By scoring four times against Hamilton Academicals "A" at Pittodrie on Saturday, Aberdeen "A" completed their century of goals in Alliance League matches. To W. Scott, who led the home attack in fine fashion and registered a hat-trick, fell the distinction of notching the hundredth goal. The Young Dons are seven points ahead of Celtic "A," but the Parkhead reserves have five matches in hand. Aberdeen "A" were worthy winners, but they had to fight hard for success They showed greater thrust in attack than the visitors.GOOD DEFENCE
Steve Smith kept a good goal, while he was well covered by McGill and Newton. Donald played well at centre-half, putting in much hard work. Devine forced play splendidly, while Currer's passes invariably found their man. Scott was a forceful leader, and the wingers, Warnock and Ritchie Smith, both took the eye. Devers, at inside left, was inclined to put too much work on the ball. Jack was the pick of the Hamilton team. Although beaten four times, he brought off numerous excellent saves. McGonagle never got the measure of Warnock. In attack, Watson and Pollock were outstanding.PENALTY
Hamilton "A" opened the scoring in eight minutes through Pollock, but shortly afterwards W. Scott equalised. Five minutes later the Young Dons went ahead when Warnock scored from a penalty kick. Near the interval Scott added a third. Both teams scored once in the second half. McKerrell sent high into the net after twenty minutes, and four minutes later Scott completed his hat-trick..Source: Press & Journal, 12th April 1937
