WILLIAMS GETS GOOD GOAL AT RUGBY PARK
Although Aberdeen " A were the better team, they were beaten by three goals to two at Rugby Park by Kilmarnock A " in an Alliance League match on Saturday. In the first half the Young Dons played attractive football and were well worth their 2-1 lead at half-time. Williams, who was nippy and dangerous on the right wing, put Aberdeen in the lead in seven minutes with a well-placed shot. Killie " A " got the equaliser against the run of play, Howie netting following a free kick. The Young Dons, however, took the lead again in nine minutes with a goal from W. Scott. In the second half Aberdeen were not so aggressive and Killie came more into the picture, and in four minutes had equalised, Henry scoring with a shot which rebounded off the post. The Young Dons fought desperately to regain the lead, but the winning goal fell to Killie from a great shot by Anderson..Source: Press & Journal, 11th April 1938
