Young Dons Miss Cup Chances

SLACKNESS in defence and ineffectiveness in attack brought about the downfall of the Young Dons when they were defeated by Aidrdie "A" in the second round the Scottish 2nd XI. Cup at Pittodrie on Saturday.
Over the ninety minutes Aberdeen had perhaps more of the game, but before the interval Airdrie had taken advantage of bad positioning in defence to run up a three-goal lead after both Buchan and Preston had miskicked.
The display of the home forwards was poor. Their passing was bad and their finishing weak. Callander twice missed good chances.
The man who emerged with most credit in the Aberdeen side was Massie, who was consistent all through.
