Young Dons Showed Lack of Method

ABERDEEM Reserves, who gave Falkirk "A" a trouncing at Brockville the previous week, were fortunate to escape defeat against Partick Thistle "A" at Pittodrie. Both teams scored twice.
The young Dons looked slow and cumbersome compared with the opposition. There was complete lack of method and understanding in their play.
Curran did not always inspire confidence in goal. The backs were erratic. The wing halves weere slow and lacking in constructive ability. Thomson at centre half was passable in the first half.
The attack was disjointed. The extreme wing men, Botha and Glen, were ineffective. Hawson was not fully tuned up, and Smith played better when he moved to inside right. Kelly suffered through lack of support.
The Firhill Reserves have some promising young players in their ranks. The defence, which included Curran and Hugh Brown, was reliable.
