Young Dons Lacked Power On Wings

ABERDEEN Reserves lost by the only goal to Queen of the South "A" at Palmerston Park on Saturday, but they took plenty of credit from the game. The match was played in a storm of wind and rain, and although they had threequarters of the play the Young Dons could not get the ball in the net.

There was a lack of power on the wings. Smith was a hard-working inside forward, and Anderson was often in the picture as leader of the attack.
Flnlay, the new half back, was not impressive, but the defence as a whole did well, with Curran, Ashe and Thomson best.
After the Young Dons had made a hurricane start they were surprised when Brown beat Curran to the jump and headed into goal.
For the rest of the game Aberdeen "A" did most of the attacking, but the nearest they came to scoring was when Baird sent a terrific shot against the crossbar.
