Hather and Finlay Show Promise

OHN HATHER and Kenneth Finlay, two of Aberdeen's newcomers, made a promising first appearance at Pittodrie when the Young Dons beat Morton "A" 4-0 in a Reserve League game on Saturday.

Finlay was the best wing half afield, and Hather was a nippy winger. Hather scored the third goal, a grand effort, and was also responsible for the last one, when he cleverly rounded Henderson to make the opening for Smith, the best of the home attackers.
Aberdeen's first two goals were scored by Emery, left back, one from a penalty and the other from a free kick. Frank Watson, at present in the Services, who appeared in the Aberdeen goal, dealt confidently with everything that came his way.
