Young Dons Were Masters

ABERDEEN "A" were masters at Love Street. Paisley, where they outplayed a strong Morton eleven and were well worth a one-goal win. For the most part play was scrappy.

The fact that Aberdeen were only one up after a monopoly of the outfield play reflects great credit on Cowan, the international 'keeper, who was in goal for Morton.
Smith, at centre forward, was extremely lively. His bursts of speed kept Morton's defence harassed, but he lacked support from his wingers.
Yorston and Baird toiled hard, and their forcing work sent the nippy Smith through to put the Dons ahead in the ninth minute.
Morton fought hard for the equaliser and were forceful on the left wing, where Mochan was kept on a tight rein by Ashe. Anderson was also an able defender for the visitors.
