Aberdeen “A” confirmed their position as champions of the "C" Division (North-east) with a narrow 1-0 win over St Johnstone "A" at Muirton Park last night. Both sides fielded trialist centre half-backs.
George Burns (Bridgeton Waverley) starred against Dunbar, the young Dons’ leader. Aberdeen’s trialist, believed to be Lewis (Irvine Meadow), showed up well in the first half.
But the stars of the Aberdeen side were Morrison in goal and Ewen at left half. The latter had the distinction of scoring the only goal of the game—a vicious shot from eighteen yards.
Boyd and Pearson were strong wingers, while Kelly was smart at distributing the ball.
