DOUBTS about the Dons' ability to stay the pace in the championship race were increased at Methil.
They never played with the rhythm and confidence which commands success. It takes team work to win matches and that was one thing Aberdeen lacked against East Fife.
There were obvious weaknesses and my guess is there will be changes for the home game against Airdrie this week.
Hamilton will be travelling reserve with the Scottish team at Belfast. Delaney and Bogan' however, are expected to be fit for duty.

THE attack suffered from a power cut against East Fife. Hamilton and Yorston struggled gamely, but it takes more than two men to make a matchwinning forward line.
Boyd returned to "A" League football for the first time since his cartilage operation during the close season. The former Queen's Park winger has reason to recall this game with pleasure.
He is still in the process of playing himself back and it looked to me as if he will take several weeks to regain his confidence.

HATHER was livelier on tne other flank, although by no means in top form, while little was seen of Harris, his partner.
The latter has played at inside left in the last four competitive matches and the more I see him in this position the more certain I become that he is a much more valuable player at wing half-back.
Lowrie was undoubtedly the Dons' best half-back. He never stopped running from start to finish, but it was mainly s YOUNG was opposed by a clever and agile leader in Gardiner and had his work cut out. Anderson can play a lot better than he did at Methil.
Emery was much more successful against Duncan than was McKenna against Stewart. But the man who caught the eye most frequently in the Aberdeen side was Martin in goal.
Neither East Fife nor Aberdeen are likely to be closely identified with the championship race for long on their showing at Methil.
