AGAINST Hearts the Dons went for the ball instead of waiting for it and once they gained possession they kept it on the move. It was the right tactics in the conditions and it brougnt the right result.
Hearts forwards were clever on the ball, but it was a day for the adventurous player and not for the intricate, pattern-weaving type.
The Dons deserved their success. They went into this game full of fight and they still had lots left when the final whistle was sounded.

The victory has come at the right time. It should restore confidence amongst the players and boost their morale.
It would be wishful thinking to imagine Aberdeen’s problems are solved. The search for players must on, but Saturday’s win has left the Dons in a much healthier position on the League table.
The present team has the chance to convince the Aberdeen public that they still have plenty of kick left when they tackle Rangers at Ibrox Park this week.

IAN RODGER deserves a special pat on the back for his courageous and enterprising display as leader of the attack.
The former Forfar forward hasn't enjoyed much luck in his fleeting appearances in the League side, but he must have caused his critics to sit up and take notice by his display in the Hearts game.
Pearson was back to something like his best form, and although Yorston could not be written down as outstanding, it was noticeable that he attempted to distribute the ball to better advantage.
Two other Aberdeen players who played with distinction were Harris and Thomson. This pair have been the Dons most consistent players in recent weeks.

SOMEBODY should have restrained the two fooish young ladies who dashed on to the pitch at Pittodrie on Saturday and held up the game twice.
One was a Hearts supporter who ran on to the field just before the start to shake hands with her idols and hand a good luck token to the goalkeeper. The other was an Aberdonian who held the whistle after half-time to bother the Aberdeen players with her attentions.
These over-enthusiastic demonstrations should be forbidden. The crowd go see a football match, not young women traipsing over the field where they don’t belong.
