It took 48 minutes for either side to break the deadlock, and it was ex Aberdeen hitman BILLY DODDS who struck the ball past ex Scotland goalkeeper Jim Leighton.
United youngster JIM PATERSON made it 2-0 on 55 minutes, after some slack play from the Dons defence.
DODDS finished off Aberdeen with a late strike, beating the helpless Dons keeper Leighton, in his 500th Dons appearance.
It wasn't all doom and gloom for the Dons, THOMAS SOLBERG hit a superb penalty past Dundee United keeper Alan Combe, after Jamie McAlister was brought down in the area. However, it was too little, too late, and the Dons slumped to another defeat.
