Young Dons are beaten.

The young Dons put up a good show at Murray Park despite the result. Aberdeen took the lead in the 13th minute when Kiely was set up by Strachan and calmly beat Sagar in the Rangers goal. Unfortunately the visitor's only held the lead for six minutes when Loy equalised. There was no further scoring in the first half, but Aberdeen lost a second a minute after the break when Lennon netted after latching on to a Furman pass. The Dons continued to play well but were sunk by a wicked deflection in the 55th minute when a Shinnie effort beat Stewart in the Dons goal.
