Tommy Wright gave Aberdeen the perfect start with a goal after just three minutes. Accies responded in style and counters from Brian McQueen (10) and Lucas Akins (16) saw the visitors go in ahead at the break.
The game turned on the hour mark when Chris Maguire was brought down in the box by keeper Sean Murdoch, who was sent off for the challenge, Maguire took the spot kick himself and made no mistake to level. In the sixty-fifth minute Sandy Clark brought on his son Nicky who scored within 60 seconds of his introduction with his first touch. Sammy Stewart then set up Pawlett who made the game safe on 80 minutes and Clark completed a brace two minutes from time to complete the scoring.
