The Aberdeen football club john made to Elgin yesterday, and met the local club in the evening. The teams were:-
Aberdeen: Macfarlane; Boyle, gault H. Low, Strang, W. Low; Macdonald, Simpson, McKinley, O'Hagan, Lennie.
Elgin: Davidson; McRobbie, Macdonald; Fraser, J. Leslie, W. Leslie; Anderson, Guthrie, Bristow (Highland Light Infantry), Duns, Gilles. Macdonald was played for McKenzie (Forres), who was hurt at the start of the game and had to retire.
Aberdeen played strongly from the start, their backs and halves allowing the opposing forwards no liberty. Aberdeen scored twice in the first half, through McKinley and Strang respectively.
The home team showed better play in the second half, and from breaks away several times tested Macfarlane. Aberdeen continued to press steadily, Simpson adding a third goal and McKinley a fourth. W low had a fifth, and in the closing minute Macdonald scored a sixth goal. Elgin were quite unable to score.
